Why Vertigo and Dizziness Bothers Older People More

By: Christian Goodman

Why is it that older people seem to be suffering more from vertigo and dizziness than younger people?

When there is a lack of blood flow to the brain, we become dizzy because it is a natural reaction of our body and we instinctively try to lie horizontal so that we can get more blood to go to the brain. A drop in blood pressure, stress, or most commonly, aging, can cause dizziness.

The reason for this is that the older we get, the less effectively we breathe. The muscles in our lungs and breathing passages grow weaker and tenser as we grow older, so we don't get as much oxygen.

Aside from this, the tension in our necks contributes to the vertigo and dizziness. The tension prevents oxygen from getting to the brain because it causes the veins that run up to the head through our neck to harden and we experience blockages.

Finally, that tension can also alter the position of our head as we grow older. As you know, we rely on the balance system in our eyes and ears to stay standing. When they are not, such as when our head is in an unusual position for a long time, our sense of balance is ruined, which leads to vertigo and dizziness attacks.

Three strikes, you're out. It's a whole new ball game when we get older.

Some statistics say that over 40% of Americans get some treatment at some point in their lives for vertigo. It's sad to see many individuals having to resort to treatments that never really give them any lasting freedom from vertigo and dizziness.

Actually, some simple exercises can cure vertigo and dizziness. These exercises deal directly with the cause, which is to strengthen the muscles that control our breathing passages, simple breathing exercises, and exercises that relax the tension in the neck. These exercises can be found in my vertigo and dizziness program.

Also, my vertigo and dizziness program brings more nutrients to the brain, which helps to stop you from experiencing dizzy spells in the future aside from stopping the ones you are experiencing now.

My vertigo and Dizziness program is here to help you. Be kind to yourself and sign up, and see why my clients have been happy and are now getting much more out of their daily lives.
