The struggle to find Love

By: Sherry Jackson

There may well be a biological reason for a person's need for love. You see, people today are not simply happy with material stuff like money, cars and nice houses. They want to be appreciated by others.

Parents usually provide unconditional love to their kids. This is very important because it is a known fact that kids who receive as lot of love at a tender age grow up to be more capable and confident to tackle real life.

To receive love from others, we have to give love first. It is a very ironic karma. The people who are always complaining about not being able to find live also seem to never give love to others either. I guess one could say that as humans, we are essentially very selfish but this would be taking a very extreme negative point of view.

Many people say that the only conditional love we can expect is from our parents and that everything else after that has almost a mutual benefit aspect to it. Call it a business transaction if you may.

It is a shame that most adults do not take a long honest look at their most basic needs and realise that a lot of the things that they are doing on a daily basis is to receive love from others. Love is very high on Maslow's hierarchy of needs and indirectly, we are all making an effort to receive it.

The thing to remember, however, is that we all strive for love and if you really love something, you should set it free. If it comes back to you, then it was meant to be yours. If not, then maybe it was never yours to start with.
