How are the seasons associated with the Five Elements? Water is winter, wood is spring, fire is summer, metal is autumn while earth represents the tail period of every season.

Give examples of Yin and Yang. North is Yin while South is Yang. Cold is Yin while hot is Yang. Still, depressed and round is Yin while motion, aggressive and angular is Yang.

How are geometric shapes associated with the Five Elements? Water is formless or wavy, wood is rectangular, fire is triangular (or angular), metal is round or cylindrical while earth is square.

How do your control strong fire? Use a large amount of the controlling element of water.

What is the productive cycle? This is the cycle where the five elements take turn to product each other. For example water produces wood which produce fire while produce earth while produce metal which in turn product water and the cycle repeats itself.

What is Li Qi? Li is methodology while ‘qi’ is ‘qi’. It is known in the west as the compass school of Feng Shui and is based on the concept that different ‘qi’ comes from the eight direction. At lot of emphasis is placed on analyzing the time and space of these ‘qi’.

What are the characteristics of the Xun Gua? The Xun Gua symbolizes Wind. It also symbolizes penetrating energy. It is also the eldest daughter and is associated with the direction SE. Its element is wood and is associated with the color green and the season of late spring and early summer.

What are Yin and Yang colors? Solid color tone is Yang while pastel color tone is Yin.

What are the characteristics of the Qian Gua? The Qian Gua symbolizes Heaven. It also symbolizes the creative that is ever moving. It is also the father and is associated with the direction NW. Its element is metal and is associated with the color white (or gold and silver) and the season of late autumn and early winter.

What are the characteristics of the Dui Gua? The Dui Gua symbolizes the Lake or Marsh. It also symbolizes the joy and delight. It is also the youngest daughter and is associated with the direction W. Its element is metal and is associated with the color white (or gold and silver) and the season of autumn.
