Dolphins are marine mammals that are closely related to whales and porpoises.  They are considered to be amongst the most intelligent of animals and their often friendly appearance and seemingly playful attitude have made them popular in human culture.  They are often regarded as one of Earth’s most intelligent animals, though it is hard to say just how intelligent dolphins are, as comparisons of species’ relative intelligence are complicated by differences in sensory apparatus, response modes, and nature of cognition.

Dolphins are social, living in pods (also called “schools”) of up to a dozen individuals.  They are known to have sex for reasons other than reproduction, sometimes also engaging in acts of a homosexual nature.  They are capable of making a broad range of sounds using nasal airsacs located just below the blowhole. They are sound oriented in that they constantly scan their surrounding with bursts of sound. Dolphin echolocation clicks are amongst the loudest sounds made by animals in the sea.  They have demonstrated a wide range of sounds and are believed to have a unique ‘language’ of their own. They are conscious breathers, this means that they have to be awake or semi-conscious to breathe or else they will drown.

Dolphins are mammals, not fish, which means that, like humans, they are warm-blooded, breathe air and give birth to live young whom they feed with milk. Dolphins mate in spring and early summer with the gestation lasting from 10 to 12 months. They are well known for their exceptional learning abilities in captivity, and the songs of whales have been shown to be culturally influenced. They are capable of imitation and memorization; they demonstrate foresight, learn from observation, communicate experience, solve complex problems, perform elaborate tasks, and learn multiple procedures simultaneously.

March may be the month known for madness, lions and lambs, but at Nissan Pathfinder air suspensions North America, Inc. (NNA), the biggest roar is coming from the early introduction of the new 2010 Nissan GT-R supercar, including a number of important enhancements. Specifically, five additional horsepower, a revised suspension, updated wheel finishes and standard front seat- and roof-mounted curtain side-impact supplemental air bags.

First introduced in the United States in July 2008, the Nissan GT-R earned near universal acclaim, including being named Motor Trend “2009 Car of the Year,” Automobile magazine’s 2009 “Automobile of the Year”, and winning Kelly Blue Book’s “2009 Best Resale Value Award.”

For 2010, the horsepower rating of the Nissan Pathfinder air springs 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine has increased to 485 hp (from 480 hp) and the car’s high-performance, 6-speed, dual-clutch transmission receives new Transmission Control Module (TCM) programming designed to optimize clutch engagement for improved drivability, and improve vehicle acceleration with the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) on (activated). In addition, the braking system has been updated with more rigid brake lines for improved durability, and the brake calipers now carry both the Brembo and Nissan logos. Finally, the GT-R’s state-of-the-art suspension has been retuned with redesigned Bilstein shocks with a new valve body design and revised spring and damper rates.

The base GT-R model is now equipped with slightly darker, high-luster, smoke finish for the 20-inch RAYS forged aluminum-alloy wheels, air suspension, while a new “near-black” metallic wheel finish is standard on the Premium model. For 2010, one new color – Pearl White – is offered, while the Super Silver exterior color has been enhanced to include a polished front bumper.

For 2010, the Nissan GT-R will again be offered in two models – GT-R and GT-R Premium. All 2010 Nissan GT-Rs are equipped with a standard 3.8-liter twin turbo V6 backed by an advanced paddle-shifted, dual clutch rear transmission and a world’s first independent rear transaxle ATTESA E-TS all-wheel drive system. The Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP)* is $80,790 for the GT-R, and $83,040 for the GT-R Premium model. Destination & Handling (D&H) is $1,000.

Asset finance or leasing enables the purchase of any equipment associated with your company, from vehicles to computer equipment. Leasing gives you all the benefits of ownership but without the worry of the asset depreciating in value. Payments can also be set against taxable profits in the UK, which makes this a very tax efficient way to equip businesses.

Factoring & invoice discounting can also release up to 85% against unpaid sales invoices within 24 hours. The remaining balance is paid when your customers pay their outstanding invoices. Asset based lending including invoice discounting is usually available to businesses with an annual credit turnover of £250K or more.

So what are the main benefits of asset finance and leasing?

Save working capital - When businesses purchase equipment outright, the capital invested becomes tied up in a depreciating asset, preventing them from investing in other projects. Leasing, however, allows you to save resources for other purposes, such as new business opportunities, unexpected costs, business development or marketing.

Easier budgeting - Payments are fixed for the full agreement period and are not influenced by inflation or changes in interest rates. Therefore, businesses can accurately plan for their finance payments in advance, helping to simplify the budgeting process.

Maintain existing credit lines - Existing credit lines arranged with a bank or other funders remain intact. As a result, businesses have the additional flexibility to still use their bank’s facilities if necessary in the future.

No deposit - A deposit need not be a pre-requisite of the finance arrangement. Businesses simply make regular payments throughout the life of the agreement.

Tax efficient - With many forms of finance agreements, payments may be offset against taxable profits, reducing the net cost overall.

Upgrade opportunities - Finance allows businesses to keep up-to-date with advancing technology and to respond to changing needs. Businesses can add to or upgrade their original installation to accommodate unforeseen changes in their requirements.

Convenience - Payments can be made by direct debit. Multiple payments can be collected on one single monthly or quarterly direct debit, saving on bank charges and administration.

Flexibility - Individual leasing agreements, including contract lengths, are tailored to meet the particular needs of each business, ensuring that the payments match the company’s existing and planned budget.

Ok, I’ve had enough, it’s too cold here. I just got back from a weeks vacation in the desert southwest where it was warm, comfortable and inviting. I return to frigid cold weather that has me scrambling for a warm bath every night. I want summer back!

I remember the lazy days of summer when you’d sit on the garden bench watching the kids play in the swimming pool (surrounded by a proper swimming pool fence of course) and enjoying the feeling sun on your face. It was wonderful, if not a little noisy from the kids splashing in the water. But even with the noise it was still fun and certainly relaxing to watch them.

Or even just sitting on the folding adirondack chairs in the front yard and watch the various cars and people go by. If you had no where to go it was a great way to waste the afternoon and sometimes you noticed really crazy things.

You didn’t have to care about all the frozen issues of winter because it was months away. You just wanted to be sure the air conditioning worked inside the house as the temperature rose to a sweltering 110 degrees. Ok, maybe that’s too hot. But right now I’d take it, I’m freezing!

How about boating on the lake, or camping in a tent with your friends, or even sleeping in the tree house? Do you remember all the fun things you used to do as a kid during the summer? It would be nice to get back to those easier days.
