A long time ago, in a suburb far, far away…some children who could not afford scooters took the wheels off their roller skates and attached them to a chunk of wood. Later, they made a decision to get rid of the handle and ride on just the wooden platform. Shortly after, some surfers started to ride on skateboards.

The 1st true skateboards, with clay wheels, were commercially made and sold in the 1950s. Skateboarding is now a popular sport in nations through the globe. Skateboard design is shaping up all the time. There are two kinds of skateboarding : Street and ramp. Street skateboarding is done anywhere except on a ramp. Skate parks are the ultimate venue for all sorts of skateboarding. They have super smooth surfaces and skateboard ramps, steers, kerbs, and fun boxes. Street skateboarders jump, flip, and grind over and on all types of surfaces and objects. They stand or kneel on the fast-moving skateboard, and can reach speeds of over 65 km an hour. Ramp skating is carried out on either vert ramps or on mini ramps.

The main difference between these 2 kinds of ramps is their size. Vert ramps are giant U-shaped ramps which are over four m long and have a vertical portion at the higher end of each side. Mini ramps are smaller than vert ramps and don’t have any vertical part in the transition. Skateboarders should follow the following essential guidelines to keep themselves and others safe and injury free:. select flat, safe ground on which to learn the basic talents & skate with mates, in the event of accidents.

As the credit crunch begins to bite more and more of us the world over are looking for a way to save money.

When you really try you can save thousands of dollars/pounds etc.  I have been a bit short of cash lately and needed some new waterproof walking shoes.  Now historically I would have visited a few stores and budgeted an amount say up to £75.00 for this purchase.

Since losing my job I need to do things as cheaply as possible and a bit of research found a pair of end of season waterproof shoes reduced from £79.99 to just £19.99.   A phenomenal £60.00 saving.

Yes, you guessed it I bought them online.

Similarly, I have bought many other luxury items for a fraction of their new price by picking up “as new” items on auction sites such as eBAy.

I am one of those people that likes to try new things a lot.  I particularly enjoying engaging in a multitude of outdoor activites.  I move on from one thing to the next.  I like to accquire a basic level of competetence but am not the kind of person to obsess about becoming great at anyone discipline.

The only downside to trying new sports is the cost of entry.  Buying the gear needed to safely participate and enjoy a new activity can be a barrier to entry for many of us.  However, lets say I want to try out snowmobile, where better to pick up a bargain than say a used snowmobile store?

Similarly, if I’m looking to try out an all terrain vehicle the place to get a great machine is to trawl Craigs List, local advertisments or an online shop offering used atvs for sale.

Actually, my next purchase is going to be a used mountain bike.  I’m looking for a great brand such as Specialized and I’m dying to try out a full-suspension machine equipped with disc brakes.  It’s been about 5 years since I last enjoyed mountain biking and the technology changes have been breathtaking.

When I’m done I can sell on my purchases and because I bought pre-owned items I can recoup most of my investment enabling me to enjoy these sports without worrying about prohibitive costs of expensive sports such as snowmobiling.

Why don’t you do the same?

What is a supercar, and how did the term supercar originate? It was probably the Jaguar XJ220 that led people to look for a new word to describe really fast sports cars. Up to that time, Ferraris and Aston Martin were seen as very fast fast cars or super sports cars.

The Jaguar XJ220 was so outrageously fast that the word supercar came into use, although that type of car is now called an exotic car or exotic supercar, but not a supercar. Performance has moved on in the past 20 years, so now cars like the Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Bentley Continental GT, Ferrari California, Lamborghini Gallardo and Porsche 911 Turbo are definitely supercars.

Supercars are very fast cars that can be driven fast anywhere

They are not just fast cars, but cars that can be driven fast on twisty roads, whether they have hump backs, poor surfaces, steep inclines or not. But supercars are only suitable for driving on metalled roads – don’t imagine you can drive a fast car like a supercar on gravel roads like those you can find in Australia and elsewhere.

Bumpy tarmac is OK, although fast cars like Ferraris are not at their best on very bumpy roads, and they definitely don’t like potholes! However, they can be fabulous on a fast twisty road which undulates up and down, so that lesser cars crash through their dampers, hitting the bump stops.

There is also a big difference between a supercar and a fast car. A big, tin box with a big engine or even a hot hatch can be a fast car, but it cannot be a supercar. Supercars are fast cars that are specially designed to be fast in all circumstances, including on the track, not just in a straight line.

Supercars are at the very top of fast car technology these days, being built from exotic materials by craftsmen. If you own one, you are indeed fortunate, although you no probably made your own good fortune.

How to Lose Weight Fast

Wondering how to lose weight fast?

The answer is the same as it’s been for centuries: Stay active and eat the proper amount of nutritious food.

The body’s formula for gaining or losing weight is simple, it’s finding the discipline to stick to a healthy lifestyle that is difficult.

If you’re like most people you may find that you simply don’t have enough weight loss motivation.

If you take in more calories than you burn each day, you will gain weight. To lose weight, you simply reduce your calorie intake or increase your physical activity so you burn off more calories. Here are a few easy ways to add more exercise into your daily routine.

When you exercise more, your body’s resting metabolism will increase, so you burn more calories throughout the day, not just when you are working out. This is the greatest benefit of exercise, but is often overlooked when people are considering whether to start a fitness program. You don’t just get the advantages of being more physically fit while you’re actually doing the exercising. Even while asleep, your body will be burning calories.

If you have successfully reduced your food intake, that means you will lose weight while you sleep, all without any of those “miracle” diet pills or supplements that claim to know how to lose weight fast.

Consistency is a cornerstone to raising your metabolism. You do not have to go through an intense workout every single day, but you should try to do something physically active for a minimum of 10-15 minutes. This can be as simple as walking the dog around the block in the morning or taking the stairs instead of the elevator at work. Also, wearing a pedometer is a great way to keep track of how you add more physical activity into your daily routine.

Keep count of your average steps for a few days of your normal daily schedule, then set a goal of improving on that number each day. It is often much much easier to walk to the store instead of taking the car when you can see that you need another 1,000 steps for the day.

The very best type of activity to lose weight fast is cardio and aerobic exercise - just so long as you resist the temptation to overdo it. Cardio work gets your heart pumping and increases the blood flow in your body. While any level of activity is better than none, try to work at a reasonably brisk pace as soon as you are physically able to do so. Fast walking, swimming, bicycling and jogging are all sensible choices to raise your heart rate.

Moderately paced cardio exercise for 20 minutes several times per week will be enough to show drastic improvements in weight loss.More than that, you’ll look and feel better.

Remember that simply replacing the unhealthy items in your diet will help you drop weight quickly. Choose raw fruits and vegetables instead of sugary snack foods. Drink eight glasses of water each day - or as many as you need - instead of soda and you will cut out hundreds of calories while improving your overall health. All of these things are easy to do when you know how to loose weight fast.
